Max, Super! It's a Spezial and probably late 1950s but Mayser made great hats in that time period. Carl Zeumer Magazin Zum PFAU (Peacock) goes way back as a retailer. They also had hats under their own brand.

Thank you, Steven @mayserwegener. Your site and your hat knowledge astonish me. You are an academic. I know you very seldom sell any of them, but please keep me in mind if you do.
Max, Thanks! I hope you like it. Mayser was actually very successful into the 1960s. In 1963 they had their largest production of 3.5 million hats. They were also a major world supplier of Hat Felt. Mayser moved Felt production from Ulm to Portugal in the late 1980s in partnership with FEPSA. That is why FEPSA is what it is today.

Me neither. It’s almost like Steve knows stuff about European hats that I don’t...no, that can’t be. ;)
I learned this from Bahner Hat Machines back in 2016. At that time I actually found record of it online but Mayser is not specifically mentioned (see below). For some reason this was / is not publicized. Mayser also moved their fur cutting to Portugal back in the mid 1960s.

Very nice, Max. Adrian knows how to find them and is very reasonable with his prices. What keeps me from buying from him is that all his size 7 hats seem to fit 7 1/8, at least that is what he usually states.
