How many trips did you make? In any case, isn't Minnesota to Chicago quite a distance?

Two trips to Chicago and OPTIMO this year...thus far. It is a little over four hundred miles from our home in Minnesota to Chicago, and I can usually make it down in six hours or so...an easy drive.

Yes, THANK YOU for bringing us along, Al. And, although someone else said it first, it's good to see RLK out of the bathroom!;)

Looks like a grand day, gentlemen. Did you buy your boy an optimo?!

You know, Al, although you are an extremely versatile hat wearer and an accomplished photographer, it is really a testament to Graham and company's work that anyone can look fantastic in any kind of hat, given the right fit and using quality materials and fine workmanship. The chosen hat land!

How long do the trips themselves last? As in, before you make the return trip home. Do you spend a night or two in a hotel or just drive back after going? I can't imagine spending 12hours on a car ride in a single day.

Wonderful photos again AL

Many thanks, Richard!

Those milans! The color of the straw, the texture of the braid. Thanks for the fantastic detailed pictures, delectans.

Pleasure was mine, Denton! Graham's Milans are exquisite, indeed!

Glad to have you along! It was terrific to be able to spend an entire morning and part of the afternoon with Robert and Graham at the shop. Lydia and Ryan thoroughly enjoyed themselves as well, and yes, Ryan now has a new OPTIMO optimo to take on our upcoming trip overseas.

You are too kind, but I could not agree more, Jeff!

Al those are awesome!

Thanks, Roger! It was a lot of fun to set those up! :)

We always make a long weekend out of our trips down to Chicago, and inevitably we pack it full of activities: OPTIMO, the museums, Chicago Symphony, food, theater, did I mention OPTIMO? lol

I'm going to get there one of these days. Thanks, Al, for allowing us the vicarious pleasure.

Hope to bump into you next time we are there! ;)

WOW. That hat on the right is gorgeous. What color is it? The trimming looks almost green under this light.

Yes, a very fine Homburg with a dark, charcoal ribbon and binding.

By the way, that Milan Homburg looks good delicious.

Agree again! Did not try it on as it was not my size, but it is a great looking hat.

I do the same - I'm out in Ann Arbor, so it's about a 4 hour train ride for me to get to Chicago. I can't usually pack in quite as much in a weekend, seeing as I don't have a car, but Opimo, Museums, Optimo and the Chicago Cubs usually figure prominently in my activities. Next time I go - possibly toward the end of the summer? I'll try to bring a decent camera along and make a priority of getting some good shots so I can contribute to this thread - reading it and seeing the gorgeous pictures is simply a joy (though only about half as good as actually being at Optimo). -M

I'm fortunate enough to live around the corner from them In Hoosierville. It is only 90 minutes to an hour to drive to the south side location.

Thanks Alan! I haven't been around too long and haven't seen this. I really enjoyed thread.
