I've got one of those crushable fur felts and it's a surprisingly nice hat for the price. If you can live with a cloth sweat, it's a decent lightweight felt hat that will put up with a lot of abuse.

The other Olneys I own are:

The boater - probably the best traditional, hard straw boater you'll find in the UK at least - the sweat isn't great, but the straw body is decent.

A panama - their panamas aren't high grade, but are decent standard weaves and blocked better than many a cheap panama.

Olney don't seem to produce any really great hats, but they're pretty decent quality for the cheaper end of the market.

MoK, I agree. Amongst my first dress hats were three Olney "Brompton" fedoras in navy, grey and brown, and for the money (£25-£35 each) I thought they were excellent value.

Hi Rick,
I am contemplating getting one of those Olney crushable fedoras in olive. Where did you buy yours for $70 delivered to your door?
Also, can the back of the brim be angled up, with the front snapped down like a classic fedora? The pics of this hat just show the brim angled down in the front and back which looks more like an outback style. Is there sizes true to size?
Thanks! :)
