The Sinclair Dino ornament is a big hit with SGF's Dad - it went right on the tree. Pictures will follow when I get back home (the technology here is, let's just say, challenging).

Hope everyone is having a great Christmas.

Safe driving home pal!

Tokheim also made a clock face pump. Unfortunately on this tiny screen I can't make out enough details to compare. My old desktop coughed on me so I'm trying to decide what to do next.

As promised, the Sinclair Dino ornament on SFG' parents tree - he was a big hit. Not hard to see way as he's quite a handsome fella.

Riding my bike earlier this year, I noticed Dino in the front yard wearing a sombrero during our
local "Fiesta Week" celebration.

Folks just love to dress Dino up!

He's a plucky survivor. With the Sinclair gig all but over, he has to make a living, so he does what he has to, to keep the bills paid. I respect him for that.

Is it me...or does General Tire
have a
one track mind? :(

The shading on the back of her upper hip/thigh is gratuitous. As Lizzie would say, oh those Boys from Marketing.

"Gratuitous" caught your eye, didn't it?!

Those "Boys" know exactly what they're doing! :D

Agreed, it caught my eye, but it can do that and still be tawdry (I'm a kid from Jersey for God's sake).

The question is what does it do for the company's short-term benefit versus its long-term reputation. The Boys scored their short-term hit, but I'm not thinking about General Tire as a company focused on building a trusting relationship with its customer. It's no what Sears used to be.

It's kinda like sex versus love - they got the first, but sacrificed the second.

But heck, a short-term score is probably all General Tire wanted.

Wow... you got all that from the ad!
I usually like it or not but don't go much
into the whys.
I admire your abilty to see the details.

About the only thing that really upsets
is animals that have been abused and are posted for the purpose of soliciting
help. (In other sites)
But I am going off topic!

I always enjoy your posts,
thanks.

Thank you.

I have been accused of overthinking on one or two occasions or, maybe, more.

Some of the Boys tried to justify the girlie art in their magazine ads by claiming it was for "the troops overseas." But during WWII, "the troops overseas" got specially-produced "pony-edition" copies of stateside periodicals with the ads deleted. The GI magazine "Yank" published its fair share of cheesecake -- Milton Caniff's comic strip "Miss Lace" was more sexually explicit than anything published back home that wasn't sold in a plain brown wrapper -- but at least they were up front about it.
