I just did some research to learn how Nubuck is produced from the top side of the outer split of a hide. This leaves the tightest grain exposed like conventional tanned leather. Roughout flips the outer hide spilt leaving the underside exposed. I have not seen many jackets made from Nubuck post here on TFL. I am hoping to see some Nubuck jackets posted and here of your experiences.

Nubuck should be sanded down top layer of epidermis. Rough-out itself is just leather. It's not some kind of special material so when you read something's been made from rough-out leather, you know it's nonsense. Rough-out as such can only exists in a context of a garment it is making; It's just your regular leather facing the other way.

Problem is, a lot of makers use both terms to describe split leather. Or suede, if you will.

I had this Schott Storm before, was one of my favorite, gave it to my brother-in-law as a gift when it was just 4 months old.

Quite heavy, looks sturdy but soft and very comfortable, with a very nice slim fit cut for athletic body type.

No need to break in (the reason why I offered as his birthday gift). The only disadvantage is that it absorbs water, so the top layer could get really wet under heavy rain or snow.

Had been thinking of getting another one for myself.
