I did not want to start another post...
But....

I noticed this in a few scenes from the 1943 Republic serial 'The Mask Marvel'.
It was full of great hats. This poster makes me wonder were they all Stetsons?
Or was that a common phrase during the war?

The whole "loose lips sink ships" thing was huge during the war. It was just US propaganda, the same as anywhere else. Stetson was just smart enough to capitalize on it.
