I think you misunderstood The Dane's post. I don't think he was saying the quality is low, and doubt if he would have a basis to say so. I think he was saying the market will bear more. my reading indicates that JBS started really making money when he priced his hats above the market & made them a status symbol.

Borsalino overhaul

This was a thin ribbon Borsy that really didn't have much character. I've already got several thin ribbon ones anyway so I had Mike put on a 2 inch black ribbon and a wide edge binding to give it a little more style.

I received this from Mike a month ago & I have been giving it a good workout
it has traveled afar, been squished, sat on, rained on, but can handle anything....pops back in shape EZ by hand

light weight beaver in granite
2 1/4'' brim 6''crown 2'' ribbon, no lining per my request but a sewn in tip in the crown
super soft felt with the old school squishy feel but retains it shape & brim flange well, very nice leather sweat band

I like fine tequila & fine fedoras,

Tequila Chamucos (anejo-aged),,,,try it if you can find it, you will thank me.....no lime or salt needed

Mike does some outstanding brim binding & the rear seam is butted up flush.

Bow & Ribbon tack stitch's, if you can find them & that's a wide ribbon......show his pure attention to detail

Most important of all Fit is Perfect (from my measurements provided) conforms like butter on my 57 1/2mm long oval head.

Those are some great looking hats sea bass and mrwilmoth, right hat right occasion. I drove to Eugene last weekend to place an order with Mike and he had some truly wonderful creations on hand. There were a couple ready to be mailed out that looked spectacular. Glad to see all these great pics!
