My latest addition from Mike has arrived. It's based on Tom Hardy's hat in 'Lawless'. More photos on the Lawless thread.

This is Mike's light weight felt and it is absolutely incredible, buttery soft, malleable, but able to hold a crease. Simply beautiful.

Here it is, my first homburg. I chose Northwest Hats to make it for me because I like how the northwest does things. Without knowing proper terminology, I described to Mike how I wanted the brim binding to be. He knew exactly what I was referring to and how to do it (now I know - it's a blind-stitched binding). Hat aficionados may think my combo of a black ribbon on a brown hat to be melancholy. I was going for a sherlock holmes-ish style though. After I receive this hat, I'll probably sink the crease a bit farther in the front than what's seen in the photo, to make it more noticeable when viewed from the front.

Today I received my Northwest Hats beaver in a "Bogart" style that I provided specs for. It's granite, 5 3/4" crown and 2 3/8" overwelt snap brim with a 1 5/8" ribbon. In fact its almost the exact specs of the Falcon Park I have though that one was in steel and has an underwelt brim. I took pics side by side after spending some time getting the crease exactly how I did the Falcon...

So let me say this... this hat is exactly how I had hoped it would look. Its even more comfortable than anything I regularly wear. There is nothing about this hat that I would change....its simply amazing. And I cannot say this enough... send your business to Mike at Northwest Hats! It blows the other one away by a long shot and cost over $100 less!

And now for some pics...its the one on the right:

I'd seen that granite hat on Mike's facebook page and had emailed him to say how good it looked. In some ways I wish you hadn't posted even more pics, because now I'm going to have to get me one of those...!

m0nk,

You ought to post those two hats in the "Side by Side" thread. They both look great!

Thats a good idea, thanks. I've been meaning to put something together for that thread.

But for the time being, here's a shot from the parking lot this morning...
