Thanks so much!Looks great, Bob.
Might be worth checking to see if he makes a light weight felt for Summer wear.
Thx. Just some things I liked and Mike executed it it perfectly.Slick and original Bob. That's a great looking hat!

Thx Mach! I'll post some natural light pics on Sat.Thats beautiful, Bob. very nice!
Thanks, buddy. I'll definitely take a look at it.
+1Terry, my pecan VS is a great color. Not too light, not too dark, not too golden. Whatever you pick I think you'll be happy. Looks like Mike is a real pro.
Just remember, no black
My latest from Mike. This is made from Fepsa rabbit felt. I've only experience of Akubra rabbit felt, both Heritage and Imperial grade. This is completely beyond compare. far thinner, denser and with a much nicer hand. To be honest I'm hard pressed to tell it apart from Winchester 100% beaver. It has a lovely smooth buttery hand.
I wanted something in the style of Alan Ladd's fedora in 'China'
Beautiful hat, what colour is this felt?
The camera has bleached the colour, in life it is a really rich light brown. Similar to the Winchester whisky felt.
I love the blocking Mike did on your hat. Not a fan of a telescope block but looking at yours has changed my mind and opened up a whole world of new choices. Thanks, I think!Thx. Just some things I liked and Mike executed it it perfectly.
Thank you!
Thank you. Mike does em well Bob. My first custom and first beaver.Bob, beautiful hat. Wonderful to have something so well-made and truly one-of-a-kind.
Looks great, TQ! Nice! What are the dimensions on yours, and how tall was the open crown height? Mine's going to be done on a straight sided block with an open crown height at 5 3/4, I may go a tad taller. My brim's going to be a little wider than the movie hat, at 2 3/4. I like the underwelt on yours too. I'm leaning toward Pecan, for now.I had Mike make me a 'China' hat from a mid brown Fepsa rabbit felt. It's amazing, very similar to Winchesters Whisky felt, but much more complex, with amazing undertones. Doesn't photograph well unfortunately. The Fepsa rabbit rivals Winchester beaver in hand and density. Stunning!
There are some images on page 24 of this thread, but the camera does it no justice.
