I just received this from Peterman's. The bill is longer than any Newsie I've worn before, but, it is comfortable.

There really is just something about those Hatpeople caps, isn't there? I like that fabric. Is it on their website, or something you asked for?

I think so. I like the wide brim compared to some...and the way they seem to easily shape...but I'm a novice at this. The way it's going,though...(as they accumulate:eek: )..I should do some learnin. So far I've been pleased.
Yes the black/grey/white Herringbone is on their website...but it is now sold out according to the ad. I must have gotten the last one. The material of this Herringbone and my brown hounds tooth seems identical. Not a heavy material. They do have a heather black with grey highlights..or fleck on their web page that they tried to talk me into. However..it is a heavier material...and I decided to go with similar to what I had..rather than a firmer material. I thought that it might not lay as well(puffy).

They tried to talk me into that one, too. Must be a poor seller. I've been hunting for a fine herringbone in grey, but all I ever find are those large pattern gray and whites. :(

I was going to stop at my new Hanna, but the construction is very different than I expected. I'm not sure if I'm keeping it, so if the right grey herringbone floats into view... ;)

Hi, Mike: Yes, this is the "Handsome Thug

Green Herringbone". It was on DEEP sale, so I took a chance on it. Turned out well, I think. :)

BTW, HD, that HP deep cut looks very cool. They do make a nice cap.

This thread has got me hooked on Newsies..I fear. Never wore a hat before I started scrolling through these photos.
Now I have this one in mind. it does seem kind of unique.....

HD, Just be sure you contact the seller on that leather cap on your link. My experience with leather caps is that some tend to be a very shallow cut. Not all but some.
I suggest getting confirmation from the seller regarding the depth of cut so you have recourse should there be an issue post-purchase.

Seems this seller isn't so easy to get a reply from. After several phone calls(answering machine)..and emails..(over the past few weeks) still no contact.
Any one else familiar with hats-caps online?

OK, here's the new Hanna. I still have my doubts about it, but I'll let it break in a little. The way the seams are done kind of bug me, though.

I like it as well. Seems to have more of a particular vintage style cut...or flair compared to some others. Great material pattern and color..in my view. Perhaps a nice change of pace...

That would make a great Goofy costume hat! lol

I've seen those before, and the flaps should be stored over the top of the hat, buttoned. They look quite sporty that way. When your ears are so cold they hurt, though, who cares if you look like a rube.

My feelings exactly. I am considering acquiring one of these, because they look really good with the earflaps buttoned down (well, in this case, buttoned up I guess ;) ) - I am under the precisely exact impression that this gives a nice sporty look.

I just remembered one of the places I've seen something like it.

Hey, those look good. I found something like that in some British website, but the flaps were velcroed, which, somehow, detracted from the whole. The snaps fit better. And the design was not so sharp.

Mmmh. I wonder if I could squeeze one more cap before the warm weather comes...
