I really like this and the potential it shows. Going to ring up Denny tomorrow and see if I can tweak the leather color. I think tumbles brown or jerky would be perfect. I also want more wool than leather. Looks superb. Saw this and my heart skipped a beat!

This custom red wool is very interesting.

I’m also not down with this pattern design. But I would not hesitate doing the 50s HB all in this wool, or a reversible premium car coat in this. All leather on one side and all wool on the other.

Cant wait to see what Ton comes up with. Toyo Mk2!

I cant tell if i REALLY like this design, or think it's a little unbalanced. But my first reaction was WOW, so I'm gonna lean into just me trying to prevent myself from justifying another jacket.

I like the idea of this better than what I am seeing. I've seen Schaefer wool jackets with leather collar and sleeves that I'd sooner wear. I'm sure it is a quality jacket but looks off to me.

I think less leather is the key. I would keep the front and back yokes leather, collar wool, false sleeve cuff leather (like on 50’s HB), Halfbelt leather, lined in brown corduroy or red nylon quilt, with brown jerky as the leather choice.

The red wool used by Aero in these jackets looks very close to a lining Stuart was using a few years back. I took this photo off of the LW site to show the similarity. Just thought this was interesting the two companies found something they both liked.

"This is one of Aero’s most special jackets.

We’ve had a classic piece of 1930s Tweed replicated to the millimetre. This unique cloth has been hand loomed and woven exclusively for Aero by Prickly Thistle Mills on original restored Victorian looms here in Scotland using Jamieson’s wool. The fine detailing replicating the classic 1930s “Broken Weave” must be seen to be fully appreciated

While these classic Wool and Leather Utility jackets were very common in the 1930s, over the decades originals have become hard to find, most having succumbed to nearly a century of wear.

We are excited to announce this new Wool and Leather Half Belt style, always a favourite of ours, which features a leather insert in the centre back pleat, full leather sleeves, facings, top collar and front yokes with under cuffs and undercollar in our superb new Tweed. It’s hard to find a more comfortable or easier to wear style."

I think that just comes from a different time and is therefore unfamiliar to us.
I'm not a fan of the fabric/leather mix, but I could imagine that the same jacket with brown instead of black leather wouldn't look quite so drastic.

Quick heads up, this isn’t the “ just when you thought you had seen it all...” thread. Maybe the mods can move it.
LOL..perhaps not to everyone's taste. My feeling is that something like this would be cool but in both cases replace black with brown and use the false cuff over the button cuff, poor use of the clone stamp but you get the gist:

There are certainly lots of interesting ways you could combine the leather and wool. I like a leather top-collar on a wool jacket as it helps with wear, ditto cuffs. The shoulder pieces make a lot of sense of you're going to be carrying a lot of stuff over your shoulder, protecting it as a wear point.

This new wool is very distinctive - I'd love to see it on a grizzly pattern, black leather with this wool replacing the mouton panels.

Aero did do a reversible jacket some years ago - leather one side, and the green buffalo check wool on the other. I wish I could remember what it was called, can't find it now. I did, on the other hand, turn up this when googling: https://www.aeroleatherclothing.com/product-detail.php?id=5214 A reversible half-belt sample. That would be interesting to see.
