New Straw Dobbs.....

Well, some good luck finally went my way for a change & I found out today that I'll be the proud owner of a new Steel Grey Straw Dobbs Fedora, It's a real beauty and if I must say so myself, I got it for a song. It's an imported Milan. Is it ok to post a few pictures of it? I can't wait until I get it.

I don't think it is a Dobbs, actually, the hat does not seem to indicate Dobbs only the box. However it is a rather dashing Italian straw.

Very nice hat, and cool ribbon! But I think John is right about it not being a Dobbs. One thing I've noticed is that I've bought a few non-Dobbs hats that arrived in Dobbs boxes. Wonder why that is?

I could be way off the mark with this- but I see a disproportionate number of dobbs boxes to dobbs hats, or any other hats for that matter. did Dobbs supply their boxes to other shops, like for store brand hats, and benchmade hats and the like?

I dont think it is a Dobbs hat either but I do LOVE that band . To me , the hat looks like it's from the 1960's so enjoy your find.

No

sometimes it is a calculated descion to try an raise the price of a hat with the brand name.. Other times, and I assume most of the time it is just ignorance and more along the lines of look a hat box that this hat fits in...

I don't mean cases where people list things as dobbs simply because of the box, but it just seems like there are way more Dobbs boxes floating around than any other box.
