To my mind, the classic Optimo block is rounded, and I love that look.

That being said, I think the blocking on yours looks terrific, Aureliano. Looks great both on and off your noggin. Very nicely done. I wouldn't give it a second thought....Wear it in good health!

The only thing I did not like about the after was the ridge as viewed from straight on and you seemed to haved fixed that nicely now.

I like both, but I definitely prefer 'after'. The before, a classic shape, always puts me in mind of a pith helmet, for whatever that may be worth. For me, a Panama is something i like as a generally similar-shaped hat to a fedora for wearing when it's too hot for felt, hence my preference for the reworked shape, a little closer to the classicfedora to my eye.
