New Aero Siblings - Dustbowl and Wool Half Belt

Luckily Aero forgot to bolt their door today, so I was able to disrupt their Christmas party to pick up my new Dustbowl and Wool HB.

Having learned my lesson, I sized down on these, both being 38". They're a trim fit, but I need a change after my slightly larger cuts. Specs are absolutely standard, no mods. The cordovan DB has the Weathered Grant I always choose for cordovan. The Wool HB is actually black wool with cordovan leather. I originally specced blue wool, but Denny thought black would be a better contrast with the cordovan.

As the Wool HB is less common, here's a close-up.

Both look fantastic, but really love the black-cordovan combo - the nicest of this type I've seen so far. Now all we need are some pics of you wearing them! :D

Thanks guys. I actually like them more than I expected. The DB replaced an HWM that I felt was too wide in the shoulders and too short at the front, but this feels just right, not to mention a nicer shape. The dropped front of the DB makes it look even all the way round. The Wool HB is just different, and a nice change from all leather. It's even light enough to put on a hanger.

Your'e a tough guy to please, so I HOPE you really do love these great new additions! As the others said, get the little woman out there and take some shots for us. Please? :)

Two lovely looking jackets and I like the wool HB particularly. I've been tempted to get one but I can't justify buying another jacket. I live in the countryside and I spend most of the time I'm outdoors in waterproofs and wellies.

Some not so great fit pics. It's not so easy inside, but outside was miserable, so this is the best I have for now.

The Wool HB is really difficult to photograph inside, as the relatively subtle difference between black and cordovan doesn't show up easily, but here goes for now. The creases at the back are due to the way I'm standing.

Oh man - double score! The whole thing works out great, and that shirt reminds me of the liner in the new jacket rreeks just got from Aero/Thurston.
Interested in seeing that wool break in. I bet with some wear that will end up looking very cool. Congrats on the new gear.

Thanks Butte. reeks has he same lining as me, Weathered Grant, which is perfect for brown and cordovan. My shirt is a pinkish RRL.

Eric, both jackets look and appear to fit great. Most of us size ourselves too big initially and I am no exception.

Yep, I've come around to the slimmer fit Richard. Of course it puts pressure on one to keep the mid-section under control, and I'm close to losing that battle this month lol
I blame the eggnog. Lots of eggnog!

Thanks Fanch. To be fair to Insurrection, the fit jacket idea is worth it's weight in gold. I've lost £650 just trading in two jackets I fairly quickly decided were too big. I spent quite a while at Aero going backwards and forwards between a 38 and 40 DB, before going for the 38, as that gave me the neater fit I wanted. I much prefer it to the 40 HWM that it replaced.

Thanks to all, guys. Sloan, I have you to thank for the DB. When I tried yours on at our mini-meet, it just felt better than the HWM, so I was happy to ditch one for the other.

No matter how much I beg, please don't let me try on your Irvin. :) I need to calm it down a bit.

You're welcome, just call me 'The Enabler'! Can't promise on the Irvin, it seems to have a hypnotic effect on people.;)
