Cheers! I gotta ask, though. The jacket looks like it only works for really slender people, being either too snug in the chest & shoulders or way too big in the waist for athletically built folks. Or am I seeing this wrong?

Hard to properly gauge from that angle, but is this one a little bit longer than your others? As I say, perhaps it is the angle, but from here I'm thinking it could be a bit on the long side. More fit pictures at the weekend will surely clarify

Yeah I was thinking the same....I didn't realise it was this long a style. It actually looks a bit longer than my DD Buco and there were quite a few comments that it was on the slightly too long side.

Then again, length, like most things is personal preference and you certainly have enough experience to know what you want.....the tumbled cordovan is gorgeous though.

Good question, Mendel. It's a slender style, for sure, the sleeves are set high and are slim and it's designed to sit as close as possible to the body, so there's not much room to hide, so to speak. But I think that with any jacket, the secret to it looking good and suiting you is fit. Even if you're a larger size, if its fitted properly it will just look good.
Protein, what's not visible in the pics is that the jacket's zip stops just at the top of belt buckle, to avoid the jacket riding up when you sit down - I can attest to this being the case. If it was shorter jacket, that zip would be somewhere up at my navel, which would feel a little odd for me. As you say, length is personal, but to me it's ideal.
*I checked back on your DD Buco thread, and I actually commented that I loved it. Do you still have it?

Yes, I still have mine. I'm liking a longer length on mine as well although sometimes i do think maybe it should be about 0.5 - 1 inch shorter, then again that's the style of the classic Bucos from what I can tell.

I think yours just took me a bit by surprise, though it would be more like a typical cafe racer length.

If only there was a lighter weight leather in the cordovan I'd be able to justify another jacket, it's gorgeous but 2 FQHH jackets in Australia is probably already too many lol

Don't know how I missed this, must have been the " racing shirt" in the thread title, I just didn't associate with a jacket. Anyways, cracking racer! Fit is spot on to my eye, a little bit of length on a tall slim frame is definitely preferable to a jacket half way up the back. Lovely hide too, grainy but even throughout the panels, tumbled does give a real head start in the break in. Enjoy!

Murray went to great pains to get the grain evenly matched - not an easy feat - so I have to commend his skill on this. Protein, the jacket's not actually very heavy, no more so than my mid-weight shinki Dust Bowl. Go on, treat yourself!!

You are a bad man lol.

Next on the list is either a BK Surrogates, or Californian when they clarify the difference between the two or an Aero Plainsman in the new veg tanned HH.

But something in that tumbled cordovan would be nice....

This enablers' row, you know! ;) I've had first-hand sight of the veg tanned HH, and would say that the russet and seal are particularly nice - lovely grain and colour variation, not too heavy either. The plainsman in the tumbled cordovan would be rather spiffy too.

My Alexander "Detroit" of 6 months ago ..... Horween Black Bison ... it's heavilly grained and wearing in beautifully. I am of course assuming that Aero are using Horween Bison.

Wow...Just wow... just look at that grain. Edward, you're up!

Craig, how's that Board Track Racing shirt of yours breaking in?

It's past the 'standing by itself' phase, but the weather's been rather too nice up here to wear it often at the moment - I've been wearing my buffalo A2 with a cotton liner, which is a little more summer friendly.

Ah, to wear a leather jacket in summer... It's takes the right jacket and the right amount of determination. Vanson Model B & Schott 618 for me! Would love to see some pics of your new jacket in a few months.

well, we should start to the mercury drop towards the end of the month, so it'll start getting regular wear then. I should get around to posting up my new-to-me Buzz Rickson B15, which is a peach too.
