Can't find out any info on this particular tartan pictured. Anyone have an idea on which one it is? Having a Pioneer done up in black FQHH / probably tumbled and need some suggestions on which Tartan would look complimentary to the jacket. Also be great if you could post photos showing an open black jacket with tartan inside. Thanks!

Looks like Royal Steward but without seeing more of the plaid it's hard to tell.
It says right there on the page that it is black royal steward but I've never heard or seen that exact tartan ( black royal steward)and I wear a kilt as I play pipes in a band and when we go to the Highland Games I see all kind's of plaids.

Butte, well done for lasting 10 minutes. That site did my head in. There must be a better way to display hundreds of patterns than that. Even if they did it by predominant colour.

Yeah, I agree. When I was picking out my lining, I had to do it in short intervals. If I was really motivated I'd grab them all and make a database. Not sure what the best way would be to organize/display though. I didn't know there were that many people in all of Scotland lol

I actually already viewed all 500 tartan options before posting this and couldnt find it. Even viewed the various weights. Doesn't look like any black stewart Ive seen. Sent them an email to see if they know for sure. What do you guys think of that specific design?

Any other tartan recommendations ?

Ha... not just Scotland. Did you notice the Singh tartan? I'm sure they'd make a Butte one if you asked nicely.

Looks similar to a Mcpherson tartan scarf I bought in Gala town from a specialist. There are some slight variations in the patterns and they also have changed over the years.
Now, just had another look. Do you mean the lining in the jacket pictured, or that which covers the dummy neck?
Though Aero sell a small number of scarves, not all to the patters of their jacket linings.

All those choices make my head hurt; when I order an Aero jacket and have to choose a tartan, your head is going to hurt, too. :D

I guess I'm lucky in that regard. There's only two choices in the Clan Skene Tartan, ancient or modern. Not much of a headache there at all. Of course finding it is another issue all together. Not many of us Skene's around compared to some Clans, and that makes it a little harder to find stuff.

Greetings from a noobie from Ireland.....why not research your family tree and see if there is any scottish blood and then pick your tribal plaid.....royal stewart is the ubiquitous nissan econo of plaids by the way.

Also, look for sept clan tartans. Sometimes you had a clan that was given the protection of a bigger clan, and were allowed to use their tartan as well.
