After nearly nine (9) months of ordeal- starting with the attempted purchase of a pre-production sales jacket, followed by the production and acquisition of a jacket that was terribly ill fitting- I have finally landed my black FQHH Aero half belt, based off of the Dustbowl with a few minor tweaks.

(My untucked shirt and low-rise jeans make the jacket appear a bit short, but the length is spot on perfect)

An insanely huge thank you to Carrie @Insurrection for her incredibly generous and gracious assistance with the return and fitting recommendation.

Happy Holidays to you all!

Nice looking jacket! "Bad Man Black" and all! You're lookin good. Sleeve length is spot on... can't tell about the belt line due to the funky orange tee but I like it! Good job... now you gotta work on the scowl a little bit.

That gittup would look good rising a café racer Bret. I like the fit. What have you for the liner?

Thx Scott. Tho my next ones definitely gonna be a shawl collar cossack:) To your question; the body is lined in standard black moleskin, and the sleeves in black cotton drill. A bit boring I know

@Sloan, cheers! I agree that the wait was worth it.

Very nice! What were the minor tweeks?

man that black FQHH is looking good. So what are the tweaks on this jacket Bret?

Thx, gents! I had them leave off the front yokes, and requested a single, slanted chest pocket with a ball chain puller. It's not quite a 30s HB, nor a Hercules. But it's pretty much everything I was looking for in a straight zip HB. (Love the waist and back pleat detailing)

Very nice indeed. Don't think I've seen one in black yet. I like how the dropped front of the DB actually simply evens it off around the hem.

Nice jacket. Welcome to the world of custom leather jackets: Months and months of waiting, then frustration, followed by more waiting; and then finally, sheer bliss. Sounds as if that is what you experienced.

Worf, he has that scowl because he is in the Pacific NW where this time of the year the sun rises at 8:00 AM and sets at 4:00 PM. Not much sunshine to be thankful for. Everybody up there has that scowl.

I love it, bret. It fits perfectly and the hair ROCKS, man!

I was going to comment on that. I found a pic of my dad in the 50's during his stint in the USAF. he's wearing a G-1 (I think) and has the Doo/specs like Bret almost. Only pic I have of him in a flight jacket. Gotta scan it and post it up.
