I notice in one of the pics, the zipper when it gets closer to the zipper pin is moved out a bit from the leather. Is it supposed to be like that?
My Easy Rider zipper on the pin side also sticks out slightly- It makes starting the zip up a little quicker. But, mine is the #10 upgraded Scovil zipper.

with all the problems and the size, to me it is a very easy decision...
about the length of the hem, I think on bigger sizes the jump on length is less than the girth of the body, as when people are meatier, doesn't mean they get taller.

How many oz your leather? I have a 4 oz Suburban and 3.5 oz B2. Both are equipped with number 10 main zips. I think yours is 6 and if the leather is 3.5 or 4 you may have some trouble with it since the leather is very stiff. As for the fit, I think it,'s just a bit bigger if not at all. If you like it, keep it. As for the crack, I wouldn't like it but if you can oil it or something to make it look better, would be fine.

IMO this is probably one of the worst example's of a leather jacket ( supposedly from one of the top brands ) that I have ever seen. From the lackluster leather itself to the proportion's of the jacket. Absolutely dreadful...............

I am a big fan and defender of the loose and wide fit on this board and wear my HWM just like that, (check out this post of mine for reference http://www.thefedoralounge.com/thre...ooking-for-feedback.87153/page-3#post-2131452 )

but I have to agree with the common judgement here that your jacket is just this tad too wide. Monitor made a good point, just imagine what it looks like once the leather is no more stiff and holding its form. You'll be wearing a shapeless tent. Looking at LWs pricing, I'd highly recommend you to send it back and size down two sizes.

edit: It's also not just the body. It's also the sleeves. They are way too wide, you could fit your wrist three times through that cuff. You need short sleeves and you need them tapered down at the cuff by like 5".

In this case one should've gone a size or two down and requested a custom length. But since that jacket is a stock one, it looks the way it does and to me it would work since I prefer the loose and wide fit too. But if we want a perfectly fit jacket, a custom jacket is the way to go but the price will be different.

You said in the original post that this is a "test" jacket. Not sure what that means in this situation, but if it is indeed a test jacket, I wouldn't think twice about sending it back. The crack in the leather wouldn't bother me too much, but the oversize body and sleeves, especially the sleeves, would be a deal breaker for me. And then there is that problem with the zipper . . . .

Was this the jacket Stuart had up on ebay? I remember seeing a brown "Test" jacket there. Couple of other things 1. I have had Aero jackets that had crappy zippers as well and with both companies if you run a little paraffin up both sides inside and out they work fine after that. As to the leather I currently on 10 LW jackets and the leather is awesome on the Goat, Steerhide and Horsehide. It does take longer to break them in but once you wear it enough the leather is fine. Now as to the fit it looks large to me but hey if you are into baggy then do your thing man. At least you got something to grow into.
