It's a style that both Thedi and BK make...Kelso calls it the Duke, Thedi calls his

Thedi uses buttons rather than a zipper on their similar style.

Kelso does both, and I'm sure Theo could too. The buttons are a great way to go, as it makes the jacket even more unique. This original was definitely Horsehide. It felt like CXL.

The zipper on The Duke ends at the bottom of the lapel. He has it in Victory Horsehide for £1,850, @tmitchell59 posted his recently.

Oh, that's not right!
The zipper should go all the way up. It also starts a couple inches up for a decent bottom splay.

Thanks. Nice write up. The "Snake" jacket looks very much like the BK Duke, smaller collar.

The black "Snake" jacket reminds me of a Levi jacket. A Vintage jacket is this style is fairly rare, at least to find one for sale. It looks to be in decent condition. Looks to be a triple marked Talon zipper. Probably late 30s. Depending on the size it would bring a good amount of money at auction, though no where near their asking price.

Terry, does your zipper go all the way up, or does it stop at the lapel flap?
As far as I could tell, the "snake" jacket was post war. The leather was too thick for a 30s jacket IMHO. The front drop was cool, and it balanced out the short back which was probably 23 1/2"

Those prices are nothing rare I'm afraid to say. Just take a look at the japanese vintage stores or blogs. They constantly sell those kind of jackets for those prices. They travel to the UK, USA and they buy cheap (Cheap as in the prices we pay here ~$400-$600 for a cool one) and then they sell them for triple the price or more in Japan.
