Martin offered one in their 16 series a few yrs ago.

Now that I think about it they were from the 15 series, not 16. All mahogany with Satin finish, slotted headstock, parlor size. No electronics.

Interesting short article, BB. I'm left wondering with all the great players today why did the HOF pick Clint Black?

I agree, Michael. He really displayed his acoustic skills on his album, "D'lectrified".

Michael, I can see where they would want the honor to go to a player of country music renown & probably a member/future member of their HOF. Willie Nelson has played a classical adapted, slotted headstock all these yrs. I would think the honor should have been his.

I know what you mean Jack , but in the back of my mind I can see Willie scratching the top , and Clint is pretty clean and careful . There are a bunch of guys that deserve the honor .

Bonzo
the God of Thunder and one of my absolute heroes

many people don't know this but everything you hear Bonzo play in his solos is him paying homage to his heroes Max Roach, Buddy Rich, Joe Morello, and Elvin Jones

he would literally play Max licks verbatim in his solos to pay respect ... he often started his Moby Dick solo with Maxs "The Drum Also Watzes"
...and the playing with his hands section is taken right from Joe Morello ... he had the ultimate respect for his heroes and honored them every night

there has never been anyone like Bonzo before or since ... a true original and master with pure god given skill and farm strength

That seems to be a semi-recent addition to his wardrobe. For years he was known for his fondness for ball caps; specifically John Deere's green ball caps.

My daughter used to take my old ragged work ball caps to school and sell them to the boys along with my ragged out wranglers . She probably made a fortune .
