Hear hear!! I didn't mind the Ewoks, but Jar Jar B pretty much ruined that movie for me.

Honestly, I think Jar Jar had very little to do with why that movie was horrible. It was mainly that Lucas decided to stomp on all the continuity he had set up in the original trilogy, and then refused to hire an actual screenwriter to come up with convincing dialog. Also, why did we have to meet 10 year old Anakin? Why are there Midichlorians? Why are the jedi so common when nobody believes they are real in 30 years? Why....

I have to stop or I might hurt myself. I go back into denial now.

It is a shame that Lucas never made that prequel trilogy, it could have been really cool, although it is an even bigger shame that they never released the original trilogy on DVD, I wish I could watch it, but it simply isn't available.

You mean the sequel trilogy? It's a shame anyone let the man near a filmset after Episode IV. That was the only one he directed. It was fine in its own right, but.... monkeys and Shakespeare and all that. Look at The Lost boys and how Joel Schumacher's career went from there.... The best of the original Star Wars films was Empire, and it's no coincidence that was also the one into which Lucas had the least input.

We all remember when Mom and Dad had that little talk with us about the birds and bees -- Boy, did they learn a lot! :D

I count myself eternally lucky that dad basically decided I obviously had the notion of it (and had done for three years by that point - learned off an educational television programme while in hospital with dyssentry at age ten, no less) and figured it was best left up to my teachers.

I cannot believe anyone actually remembers a time when they didn't know about the birds and the bees!

I was a child in Sweden in the 70's. In order to reach even the mature age of 6 and not know every single detail (with variations), I would have had to live under a rock. Not to mention that my uncle and his wife gave my sister a book with detailed info (and I do mean detailed) and all the necessary photos when I was born (and she was two) so i grew up with that. I have no concept of what it would be like not to know. You mean you guys do?

And yet, in my 30s, I still blush when people snog on tv if I'm watching with my mother... [huh]

I never even bothered to see the SW prequels. I suffered through the first and then decided that I would simply pretend that they had never happened. As far as I'm concerned, there are only three Star War movies.

...Exactly! What happened to the days of the couple would start kissing and they'd pan over to the curtains?

Or what about in To Catch a Thief where Hitchcock uses fireworks? Boy, those were the days. Just sayin'.

Oh, and careful with the homeschooling. Not that Catholic school's any better! lol (Heck I turned out just fine...just fine...)
