Movies about the French Resistance, any suggestions?

Not sure about French, but there is an excellent movie about the German resistance, Die Weisse Rose or as we say on this side of the pond The White Rose. It only exists on VHS (how quaint) but there is a related DVD that I'd like to see, Sophie Scholl: The Final Days

"L'armée des ombres" (Army of Shadows) is quite brilliant.

Of course recently there was "Charlotte Gray" which wasn't terrible.

Is Paris Burning?

Great 1966 film based on a great (non-fiction) book. Should be required reading for anyone who thinks the French were cowards during WW2.

The film is available on DVD, though you might have to look around for it.

"L'armée des ombres" (Army of Shadows) is quite brilliant.

I very much second that! Another really good one is La Bataille du Rail (1946).

On the White Rose, I'd recommend the book by Hermann Vinke, "The Short Life of Sophie Scholl". I think many italian families - who lost their loved ones - are just ar fed up with the "jokes" about italians as some of you americans are pretty fed up with the jokes about America came too late to two wars and still believe they won it all.
That's about it.

Actually Rommel regarded the Italian troops in North Africa as being quite good and even, sometimes, courageous to a fault! For a good account of the Italian Army's overall performance in WWII I suggest readin about the 1942 campaign in the Caucuses.
