Great movie. Duvall makes a helluva cowboy.
Open Range surprised the heck out of me when I ran across it one afternoon on a local channel. I could have sworn it was a Larry McMurtry story (probably because any Western with Robert Duvall in it makes you think of "Gus"). On top of that, Annette Bening as Sue --!

Sue Barlow (Bening): So is it marriage that scares you two, or putting down roots?

Boss Spearman (Duvall): No. Who'd have him? All rangy and mangy like a rough old dog.

Charley Waite (Costner)
: How about I hold your head under water for just a little while?

Dr. King Schultz as played by Christoph Waltz in "Django Unchained" was mentioned before in one thread or another but deserves a second look featuring more of his hat pictures. His acting really made this movie work as far as I'm concerned.

Can't really see enough of them to tell for sure but I would probably agree.

And the one with Christian Slater has got to be a satire?

truth ... but Hawke looks great

I have this awful filter in my brain that has not allowed me to watch a movie unbiased in years ... I hate it ... but can't change it

things like what I see in that pic would prevent me from seeing it

Hey, we can all be thankful, Tom Cruise was slated the remake. Matt Damon was as well, at least he makes a pretty decent cowboy.

As for a remake of the remake of the remake of ' The Magnificent Seven ' it's just pointless, the original film can't be bettered & there just aren't any dudes around today that can match the original 1960 cast.

I gotta agree. In the "original" you got the sense those guys really could kick your butt.

Denzel can be a pretty bad dude, though.
