Money or Intention? Help me Decide

I hear you. I can definitely see why you'd like it. It's a beautiful hide, for sure. I got a sample of Vicenza a while back and really dug it. Ultimately, though, I think it'd bug me if I didn't try out the Shinki. Himel Ventura seems like the pinnacle, but again, it's what makes you feel good, which is why it's really nice to be able to gather so much information on this forum.
As was said earlier,if you aren't going to order both, you probably should go with your first inclination.

Everyone has been making comments about Vicenza, but is this really Vicenza HH?

I thought Himel uses HH from Victoria tannery, which I though was different from Aero's Vicenza. I could be wrong. I believe this is the same stuff Bill Kelso uses and calls "Victory" HH.

I would first double check with Himel to be sure. The stuff does look interesting. Himel described it has having a spongier, softer hand. Less shiny & more matt. It looks good in photos to me, just different.

Would Himel be open to sending samples in both the Italian HH that was used, and the Shinki you intended? Worth a try I think.

If I did that, and I liked both, then I would personally take the deal and also buy a Shinki in a different color and/or style :)

The Shinki is sublime IMO, unlike anything I've seen or handled. And that smell... So I think you'll want one regardless if you're shopping in the Himel range of high end. If you only get one jacket, I don't think you'll regret the Shinki, which you wanted originally.

While there is nothing wrong with Vicenza and I really like the leather, I think if you initially went for Shinki, that's what you REALLY want. For the price you are paying with a Himel, the last thing you want to do is think, somewhere deep down inside, that it's not what you REALLY wanted.

A few hundred dollars isn't going to change that it's not what you REALLY wanted.

Go the Shinki. A few more weeks wait isn't going to matter in the scheme of things whe you have this jacket for the next 50 years...

It's true, go for what you wanted. You said it yourself, if you wanted another hide, you would've went with another vendor. This isn't about money.

Also, I am guessing that even with the discount, the Vincenza version is still priced considerably higher than the alternative. So if you decide to keep the jacket and save up some money, you will still end up with a jacket you could've easy bought from another vendor for even less, and one that's not what you really wanted.

I think Shinki is easily the best leather in the world, but if the OP said he originally wanted Vicenza, I would still advise him to get that because it is what he originally wanted.
Take advice from someone who compromised in the past: don't do it!!!

Shinki is the best smelling leather in the world!
I would love to do the interior of mmy car with it. Then I could rolll up the windows and keep it locked in forever.

Really hard to describe...mine is almost gone after 2 years. Aa bit like wood (maybe teak or mahogany) when you're sanding it. Not at all like Horween.

The Shinki jacket I have is great, but I have heard that it can be quite flat and lifeless, so I think it depends on who Shinki made it for.
