Above I hope you will see the images of the Bond WP elbow patches sent by Neil at OKW. …

Steve: I think the price has always been £57.00 - the 1945 (which seems to have vanished; I have the Black version) might have been £47.00.

I think I am going to splash out on this as I like the look and the concept.

Thank you for that info and pictures, order placed too. I just looked on their website and the 1945 Olive and Black are still there at £ 49.50

Have outdoor knitwear changed the cost of the Bond Sweater? i am sure when I looke last week it was £47.00 ish, I just looked again and it is £ 57.00??

I'm pretty sure they did. In Nov 2020 I paid £47.50 for the Bond disregarding shipping and the Black Friday discount.

P.S. and looking at the 1945 product page in December last year via the Wayback Machine, it was £41.25 and now it's £49.50!

Thanks Steve. I'll have a look at the website again. ... I've just had an email form OKW to say that the order is 'in transit'. I presume that means it will be delivered in a white van. Yes, the photos are the ones OKW sent.

Big increases but fairly typical: welcome to Brexitland!

Very nice photos Steve. Mine has arrived as well and I shall put some snapshots up soon.

But why have you covered your face, especially with a Union Jack mask? You look like a UVF or UDA loyalist gunman in Northern Ireland: ‘No Surrender’!

I’m new to the WP as I just got the LL Bean commando sweater. It runs longer in the torso than a traditional crewneck, but in doing some research that seems like how the style is supposed to run. Can anyone confirm as I don’t want to keep it if its length is inappropriate.

Yes, I can confirm that it does run a bit longer in the torso than the traditional crew neck and so you should certainly keep it.

I purchased a commando sweater from Black sheep knitwear but I find the cut to be too baggy. So far North Sea clothing has the best fitting commando I've found for me (very slim chest and high arm holes) but unfortunately they no longer produce the style and I'm looking for a crew neck anyway- so does anyone have recommendations for any slimmer fitting commando sweaters?

Well yes, the Outdoor Knitwear Woolly Pully, which is the real thing. Go to www.outdoorknitwear.com

No, they’re not paying me a commission: I’m just a longterm customer!

I had considered them before but I noticed the the fits of the sweaters I looked at seemed to be all over the place... however when I opened up their site the first thing I saw was a trim fit camo sweater on sale and I've been on a camo binge lately. Hopefully it fits well and has enough length, especially on the sleeves. Speaking of that what is the "sleeve turned back" measurement? All I'm familiar with is the full sleeve length either from the shoulder or from the armpit.

They are normally good about changing a sweater if the fit is not quite right, I find them quite accurate. I think it depends on your choice, how long or short you want the roll back cuffs.

The point of roll back sleeves and hems is that you can adjust the length to whatever you want.

It really does depend on whether you have long arms! In my avatar for this Forum you will see a photo of my wrist and part of my hand! I’m wearing my Navy Woolly Pully with the cuffs turned back - that should give you some idea.

I Just had a message come through from Out Door Knit Wear to say that they have a new range of lightweight sweaters, merino wool, crew/round necks and roll necks, I may be tempted by the latter, although they are quite expensive.

I got my TW Kempton sweater in a while back, much better fit than the Blacksheep knitwear but has rather large shoulders with an oddly constrictive neck. Also a very very itchy wool. My North Sea Clothing service sweater is still the best fitting and feeling commando I've ever used but it's a seasonal style that's no longer stocked so, if anyone knows brands of a similar fit/quality please do let me know.

Apart from TW Kempton/Outdoor Knitwear, I can not off hand think of anyone else, but you could look at Ebay. I am earing an RAF WP at the moment.
