That dates your sweater to 1977 to 1993.
Are you sure?

I'd expect it to be newer than this considering that there's a website on the label that's still active.

Before DLA (Defense Logistics Agency), there was DSA (Defense Supply Agency). After DLA, 1977 to the early 90s, came SPO (System Program Office), followed by DPSC (Defense Personnel Support Center) and later, DSCP (Defense Supply Center, Philadelphia).

They may have reverted to putting the DLA contract numbers on current articles of clothing without checking with me. If so, that would be a major breach of etiquette. As the procurement agency is normally headed by an O-9 (Lt. General) that is unlikely as General Officers have had matters of etiquette hammered into them from day one.

So what would explain the website being on the tag ?
I'm just genuinely curious.

If I remember correctly, Admiral Skubic is the current head of DLA. I can get in touch with him and see what he can tell us. As he isn't Army, I'm not sure how much success I will have. When the Army ran the organization, it was more accessible.

If you can make contact with Admiral Scooby or, failing that, Rear Admiral Shaggy, please let us know the answer to this conundrum.

Typically my black Brigade Quartermaster WB, but my USMC green WP is getting some use lately as well. How about yourself?
My go-to WPs are the Royal Navy (dark blue) and Army (olive green) and also Black, but I also wear RAF (blue-grey) and Peat Brown quite a lot. This year I have also been wearing Rifle Green (reintroduced by Outdoor Knitwear recently) and the new Sky Blue WP (the same shade of blue as the stripe in the Ukrainian flag ).

Nice choices! So you have pics of the sky blue?

Just received my Blacksheep Knitwear Smuggler. Very nice. Fit is spot on for a medium.
I like the sheep / farm smell. Wife, not so much. Any idea how long it will smell like the sheep?
I had one of those Blacksheep Smugglers for many years and I remember that smell. I’m afraid I grew out of that sweater. I must get another one and wear it when I am not wearing a military sweater.

This thread has been very quiet lately, although it is still very much Woolly Pully season in the Northern Hemisphere. I hope all you chaps are enjoying your WPs. I certainly am.
