Vintage town

Now I know this is far from an actual working town, But we have been reenacting in Rockford IL at a place called The Midway Village Historical Center...They have been very hospitable and are known for an excellent WWII event!!!

Back in the 90's I was a proud owner of a mist green (Elvis Green) 58 Plymouth Savvoy lol She had a flat head six, push button tranny, four doors and fins from here to North Dakota!!!

We mostly hung around the East Side, KK Ave in Bayview and all along 27th Street and then West Allis, where one of my buddies owned a shop called Past Present Collectables...

Come to think about it... I would kill for a good George Webb burger and coffee!!

Why George Webbs when you could have Leon's hotdog and custard?

Is that shop still around. Did you ever go into Blast from the Past? (RIP)That one was my favorite.:cry: :cry:

Don't remember Blast from the Past. Leon's is still there and thriveing!!!

However the area around Pulaski HS is becoming a LK DMZ...There is a big Walmart where Southgate used to be and St. Luke's takes up the four blocks up the 27th across from 6th district PD station...

However "Mazos" is still on 27th as is the A&W in Greenfield!!

West Allis is also becoming more like Walker's Point/ East side area.

Sadly it seems to be losing some of the "hometown" and feeling of "the good old days"....

However the area around Pulaski HS is becoming a LK DMZ...There is a big Walmart where Southgate used to be and St. Luke's takes up the four blocks up the 27th across from 6th district PD station...

However "Mazos" is still on 27th as is the A&W in Greenfield!!

West Allis is also becoming more like Walker's Point/ East side area.

Sadly it seems to be losing some of the "hometown" and feeling of "the good old days"....

wesallis is not that cool yet. My bother inlaw lives there. There are some parts that are changing....new condos going up by the farmers market. St. Lukes is huge, when I was in the union my company tiled the additions.

A&W is still fun. There is a root-beer joint in Waukesha that is a drive-in. Awesome food and awesome root-beer.

My sister went to Pulaski Highschool for two years. Befor that she went to MHSA with me. I loved MHSA.

A small world!!

I went to most of the HS's in the area, including Pulaski... for a short while!!! Yeah, I was a bit of a hoodlum as a youngster Boy they sure work that out of you in basic training!!

I'm in Minneapolis. I'd be up for a get together sometime. I had a blast at a get together in NYC with some fellow Loungers. I'm pretty much stuck in this store untill February.
