Melton Ten

Medium tan colored felt, dark brown ribbon, unreeded sweat.

Brim: 2 1/8"
Crown: 4 1/2" (creased)/ 5 1/2" (open)
Ribbon: 1 5/8"

I though this might be from the (late) 30's but rlk and carouselvic both think it could be from a later date.

I really like these Melton hats, it gives me another classic style to strive for along with the Knox hats I've seen.

Vintage Shop Find

Hello everyone, I'm new to these boards as well as a new fedora owner. I purchased this Melton at a local vintage shop a few days ago and it appears, from my small amount of knowledge, that this hat does not have a name outside of the brand name. Looking at all of your hats it appears the logo in the liner is different than yours as well. I was hoping someone could help me fill in the blanks. Thank you!
It has a 2" over welt brim, 1.75" ribbon and bow, and a center dent crown. It also appears to have a reeded sweatband if that helps as well.

I'm fairly certain Melton Hats were made in England and imported over for sale in the States. Everything i've come up with in my search results lists them as hatters to the Queen. I'm sure there are examples, but in my own memory I really don't recall seeing any U.S. made hats with a white sweatband like that.

20's or earlier Triple Ring (beaver designation) Melton. A high quality hat in its day and in a beautiful champagne color. Sadly, the moths decided to give it a Danny Trejo complexion.

This Melton Ten arrived today. It's a very light gray. Originally it had a black hatband with single bow. I had this silver/gray hatband installed added with gills. I think it's gorgeous.

Want to share my Melton 'Art In Hats' to this page devoted to them. This is cross listed in new hats thread. But wanted to be on the record for sharing here! This one is a least dated in the 50s. The felt is simply magnificent and needs little to no steam for shaping. The pics were taken indoors. I have been privy to many homburgs as of late and am getting used to wearing both casually and dressy. This a nice piece.
