Yes we are definately not talking Savile Row here!

The places that can and do are simply priced out of the reach of the vast majority of the rest of us. So yes with in a workable price point he could not find anyone that could do what he wanted.:eusa_doh:

the sales pitch

That's how I'm seeing this. I've seen maybe 3 or 4 of Matt's suits on anyone other than Matt, five or six posts by Matt as to the details of the suits, and two to three hundred posts by John about how great he finds Matt's suits and hats. Up until the last few posts, I figured John had a closet full of MD made products. Instead of hearing from Matt, every question about his products is being answered by someone else, who is not involved in their production, and who owns a vest. I don't know if it's just a friendly arrangement or if there's a business interest behind it, but there's a lot of selling going on there.

OK, it's a fine line, see? And Matt dances it carefully and well.

We don't allow blatant advertising by members. Except in the case of bartenders, who work a LOT for free. Art gets alot of good publicity here, but he initiates none of it. And Matt is careful. That's all.
Those of us who have seen Matt's wares know it's the real deal. Ask him questions via email, via PM, whatever. But understand that he is carefully trying to obey FL rules, while also taking advantage (as we expect him to) of the chance to hawk his excellent stuff as a bartender.

Please do NOT take Mr. Deckard to task for his lack of pushing his stuff hard here, or for others doing so for him. That's the way the system is set up, imperfect though it may be.

I'm just trying to do things better to my eye than what I see.

I call this The Fluxionist Shirt.

5 button pullover dress shirt with spearpoint collar, butterfly closure side seams with reenforcing gussets.

It's been a while since this thread was bumped. His attached collared shirts are looking great as well.

Just been working to get them to perfection with what you'd find deadstock from the past. Body, collar and all. It's taken some time but I've done it.

This is the Paramount collar shirt.

Unfused but double stitched. I love collars that have a mind of their own and don't look like cardboard on your neck, the Old Hollywood look. I don't wear collar stays, but you might, so I put in a vintage style collar stay pocket that runs along the edge of the collar rather than down the center.

I've always wanted to do a proper Clark Gable style Dagger point, spear point collar shirt.

These are all ready to wear. They are off the rack in sizing. The fit is matched to vintage shirts I've studied. They aren't slim fit, but aren't too voluminous either. I'm not a skinny man so I didn't want anything popping off when I sat, but also didn't want shirt billowing out from under my jacket.

The armholes are high and fitted and the entire cut is... straight out of the past, and it took a lot of work to get it that way without compromise.

I sharpened the points a bit and... well I like mine better.

I'm also just not keen on the look of modern day button downs... they are just sloppy with the button at the tip creating that obnoxious floppy roll over your tie. The collar doesn't know whether to buckle up or down.

For some reason I cannot access your website. I use an iMac so Safari is my browser. Is this just me, a "flash" issue or some such possibility?

I'm wondering if the Toronto connection I'd heard about is in place or otherwise progressing.
