Well I tried.

As a retailer I've really tried to stay out of this post. I will say that I make mistakes everyday. Some are big and some are small. It's how we handle the mistakes that matters. I think that anytime I've heard Indy's name banter about, he's always been quick to address the situation. He's always out front with his products through thick and thin.
I don't know Indy. However, I admire him and what he's accomplished so far in the retailing industry.

I totally botched the measurements, but I'm not a tailor, and the instructions leave a lot to be desired, so I don't feel like I should take the blame for that. I suggested to Indy that video clips and photos would be a better idea, and he seemed to agree. I've been told the thing to do is get a professional tailor to do the measurements, and tip him $20 or $30.
The work is done in Thailand. Indy is very frank about this.

Thanks so much for this thread.

I really liked the suits on that site and probably heard about it through Fed L.

Not keen on having a suit tailored in Asia.

We have off the rack suits in Canada , made in Canada and really excellent.

Unfortunatly nothing retro like the site displays.

I recently got a Boss suit double breasted dark blue super 120 Lora Piana

Although this is Italian wool it was assembled in Slovenia.

Perfect fit .

I am nervous about an online order and more so now.

May investigate a local tailor and see what happens.

Just hard to get that nice lapel retro style and the pinstripe fabric you chose.

It looks like a very good suit.

Just my thoughts

I am a fellow of late middle age, and considerable size (6' 3", 50L off the rack jacket, 43 trousers), who is trying to find a couple of suits in what would have been considered a conservative cut "for the stout man" in the mid-1920's.

I am actually looking for an "off the rack" appearance, something along the lines of a $23.95 Sears and Roebuck mail-order suit.

I've found this thread to be quite helpful, in that it has turned my attention towards the heavier fabrics, and given me some idea of the pitfalls of on-line ordering.

Has anyone suggestions of specific features or details that I should request?

And yes, a personal fitting would solve that, but with Indy's company, it's just not feasible. Unless you have a ton of air miles.

Or even if you do. I enquired about this, since I travel to Thailand quite often and could stop in for a true bespoke fitting(s), but got nowhere.
