I cannot find any threads approaching the subject, so:

Does anyone own any Magnoli Clothiers suits? I was very impressed with a vest I purchased from them some time ago, but a suit is a horse of another color.

I've been looking at the Dillinger Suit, does anyone have any thoughts on it?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

I have a silk and linen suit that I'm very please with. It fits perfectly. I don't you think you have worries on the quality at all.

Orgetorix and Bugsy, thanks for the help.

I'm looking at other Navy pinstripe suits and thus far, for the price and the fact that it is custom made, I cannot find a better deal.

Looks like Magnoli is for me.

I now have 2 suits and a dinner jacket from Indy. You will do very well by doing business with him. Ensure you have good measurements and communicate clearly to Indy what you want.

I ordered a pair of Hollywood pants from him, and they came poorly finished. A belt loop was ripped, one leg was longer than the other, and the legs were too wide. It was to my error was the width, but he still offered me half the price of return shipping in store credit, which is against his normal policy. Of course, now they're most likely lost thanks to USPS (and all the political conflicts in Bangkok), but that's another story. He's been cooperative with the problems, and has been very kind. At this point, I wouldn't hesitate to order from him again. I'll keep you all updated on what happened to the pants after I mailed them back out (Express International Airmail shouldn't take longer than 2 weeks, right?). This is just my unbiased review of what's been going on so far. I'm not nervous about it right now, since he has a good reputation with many other members here.

Cheers,

I had a nice vintage evening tailcoat that lacked trousers. I sent the tailcoat to Indy and he matched up some very, very close fabric and made up a wonderful set of trousers with all the trimmings: double stripe, fishtail back, etc. Great customer service and I had the measurements done by my local alteration lady and they were spot on.

I would really recomend his work!

Ha, your ears were burning! Or you just read the thread... either way!

These fine folks have convinced me to purchase a Dillinger suit from your store. I've purchased smaller items from you in the past, but the suit is hard for my frame, hence the hesitation.

When I get done knocking over the nearest bank (please no one turn me in I am joking) I'll be firing off a few questions for you, Indy.

P.S.
How many posts do I have to have before this new in town tag goes away? I feel like a hat with a price tag on it still and someone's wearing me. Feh.

I've had a Magnoli "Barnett College" suit for four years now, and I have most assuredly not babied it at all and it's held up great.

The fit is pretty good, considering I took all the measurements myself. Someday I'll have a tailor tweak it, but there's no rush.

When I get a little ahead financially, I'll definitely be placing an order for a nice Sidney Greenstreet style linen suit.

I have a custom suit on order and am very much looking forward to receiving it.

I'll try to post some pics when it gets here.

Aha, except, it's not linen.. :)

I have mixed feelings about the quality of the Magnoli-garments I own, but I tend to wear them regularly as they are my only 'golden-era inspired'-mtm clothes..

I think, the more detailed your wishes, measurements etc. the better the end-result. I will probably order another Magnoli-suit cause in my size, vintage is just fantasy..

Indy, what are your current delivery times on tuxedo pants assuming the measurements were emailed in today?? I've got a wedding coming up!

Standard processing is about four weeks, but we can upgrade to priority processing for an additional 15% fee to get it to you more quickly (by a particular date if necessary).

Kind regards,
Indy
