Gannon in “steel” beaver with “blue metal” ribbon. Still working on the crease. This is the most finely pounced hat Michael has made for me.

I like it! Nice crease work, are you going to work in a more angled rake? Crown for days!

Thanks Mike. The crown is actually only 5.75” (the most he could get out of the hat body), but the angle of the photo makes it appear to be more. It has some rake already but I’m not happy with the crease yet. I’ll get it there.

I just saw this...5 3/4" is nothing to sneeze at! Probably to get enough brim, something had to give. I think a diamond with a substantial rake may be worth a shot. That is what I did with my Gannon. It still looks a mile high.

I just love this fedora. The color combination is awesome...I did make the diamond a bit more pronounced and deeper. But as it was was fine. I think it is an improvement.
I agree on all counts. I much prefer a Diamond crease with the "points" being well defined. In your photos the crown ribbon has an interesting quality--the color appears to fade/lighten just slightly as it goes from the center to the edges. Is this obvious in person, or just the way it photographs? Either way, I like it!

The ribbon does seem to have a patina look to it. Both ribbons are vintage. And it’s even more noticeable in person.
