My new Gannon is based on the model Michael calls The Highwayman, a 3" bound edge brim x 5-1/2" open crown. In all natural beaver (I believe he calls it 100X) it measures 4-3/4" at the front dip with a center crease. The only thing I had him change from the model was the ribbon, now a 13/16" with a double fray bow in Commando with matching 3/8" binding around the brim.

Indoor pics tend to photograph a little dusty gray in my opinion.

Darn nice hat Jack! Here I have worked to perfect palm muting on my fingerstyle picking hand and you have used a hat Why did I not think of that? Seriousely, I like the hat, guitar and boots. It looks right at home.

Wear it proudly, Eric -

It’s pretty much like FedOregon's. Mine will have a wider brim at 3” and taller crown at 6” open. Has anyone seen any activity by FedOregon? I sent him an IM asking if he minded me pretty much duplicating his fedora. That was a while ago.

Michael finished my hat. I'd post photos but it looks exacty like the hat made for @FedOregon except the bow does not have a twisted knot and it isn't frayed. It came out as 5 7/8" open crown with a 2 5/8" brim. I'm hoping to receive it the beginning of next week.

I wish FedOregon was still around so I could thank him for the inspiration.

Congratulations! I'd still like to see some pictures. Especially of the bow.

I'll post more when I receive the hat. The bow is the only real difference from FedOregon's and I went back and forth on frayed or not frayed.

Very nice! I like that color of bow with the felt, just shy of being wild looking. Can't wait for a noggin shot. Congratulations. I'll pass along your sentiments to Doug on Facebook. I don't know that he checks it, but it will be there when he does.
