Greek salad

Always a winner.

Here in Birmingham, thanks to a huge influx of Greek immigrants in the early part of the last century, the Greek salad is as ubiquitous to the local cuisine as grits. You can get one to go with everything from fried chicken and collard greens to tacos. If you're in a restaurant that doesn't serve one, you know it ain't run by locals. The other night for dinner I had one from the sole Yemeni joint in town, topped with some of the best grilled chicken I've ever had.

As mentioned in the breakfast thread, I had brunch today. "Shake n'bake" cauliflower. Delicious! I have leftovers that I will either eat later for a late lunch or dinner.

Have never developed a taste for it. Love tomatoes, they're growing in my garden, love the smell of the soup and everyone in my life loves it. I can't eat it. Pile on the grilled cheese.
