Apparently someone around here knows Wifey and I are the neighborhood chumps. Because they dumped these two girls on us Wednesday afternoon. I have a low tolerance for such people.
These two girls are sweethearts and we just can't seperate them. They appear to have been friends for a while.



Suppose we now have "six" rescue dogs.

Good on you Renault. We have picked up a dog or two that way.

My niece is part of a group that fosters abandoned dogs until they find a home. The one she has now has a dent in his skull from being beaten. He is a sweet dog. I would like to put a dent (or worse) in the prior owner's head.

When I was growing up out in the country we always had several dogs, mostly heelers & red hounds. Late one fall we had another red coon dog show up & act like it was going to stay, so we put another barrel for a dog house under the porch where they stayed in the winter. Early the next spring my grandpa & I were out on a hilltop that overlooks the river bottoms & I spotted that coonhound walking away from us out about 3/4 mile. I said to my grandpa that I wonder where he's going? My grandpa said that he was probably going back to his home, just like it was some long trip or something. Just as my grandpa said that, that dog stopped & turned sideways & looked right at us as if to say thanks for letting him winter over. We never saw him again.

All of our Dogs have been rescue Dogs, with the exception of one that I found running down the edge of a busy highway ! Renault you have a couple of nice looking additions to your family there !

Daughter was finally able to get the one tatted pup to Vet clinic today. She was chipped. She spoke with owners. They are meeting them at 5 tonight. They are about 7 miles from us. They have been missing since June 22nd.

I'm still confused how they got across River. More when I know more. They are going home!!!!

That is great news Renault! Glad to hear that they were adventurous and not dumped (or at least I hope not -- dumping a chipped dog would be pretty dumb). Kudos to you for hosting them for a time.

I'll bet they all enjoyed that wk, Bob. Glad they didn't scare up a skunk. I did that once as a kid & had to take a bath in tomato juice. I can't imagine a dog tolerating that very well.

Our little "special needs" boxer found a new playmate other evening. She was rather pungent yesterday morning!!!! All she wants to do is play!!!!!!

One of the daily things we do is make the bed. If it's made, the boys don't get on it. Today, it was my duty. I forgot. This was taken mid-afternoon.
