"Lounge Suit"

I have an industry awards Dinner to go to on Friday night, invite says "Lounge Suit" its summer, here in the S.R.C could I, possibly wear this?

Minus the hat and dark glasses, or course

I don't think so. My understanding is that it is more "correct" to wear a dark suit (e.g. charcoal or navy) for evening events and those requiring a lounge suit.

Agreed. Evening events require a dark suit.
