Long Way from 1957 Chevy

Here in Scotland we don't see many american classics but on sunday my wife and I were on our way to a garden centre(dont ask!) and at a roundabout a 57 Chevy went round in front of us-two tone yellow and gray.I just gaped at it-wife was driving -first time I've seen one in the flesh.

Both the '36 and '57 were four-door sedans -- I think he had strong views about two-doors for some reason, and would never own one.

At one time I thought that I would never be old enough to want a four door instead of a two door. I changed my feeling on that issue at least 30 years ago.

I think expecting friends to crawl into the back of a modern two door is like having guests and asking them to enter the spare bedroom through the window.
