Not sure this qualifies as a HB, but it is spectacular: John Drew Barrymore in While the city sleeps (1956)

Captain America's leather jacket was a custom-made Aero Bootlegger with somne alterations to the standard pattern. Lovely jacket - shame the wardrobe department distressed it so much!

Grease was on TV last night, and one of the characters wears a very dark (seal) brown halfbelt jacket. It might be a cross zip.

The look of the T-birds' jackets was really well done (as opposed to the Scorpions, who chiefly looked wrong because they looked far too 'uniform' for a bunch of teen schoolkids. Shame there was so much else wrong (not least getting the %^&*ing BeeGees in for a song...), but that was in the days before they cared about historcial accuracy. I still lvoe it, though, even if I am more of a Cry Baby man at the end of the day.

I don't think any of these are halfbelts; certainly never seen photos of any in shots of the Rocker scene of the time; as I recall, all the shirt-collar jackets in the film were all plain backs, Lewis / Rivetts style. Interesting little film, though - great period shots of not only the Ace Cafe but wider parts of London, some nice characterisation and writing. In particulary, it's interesting seeing how they rewrote the story from the book - essentially a gay love story - in order to make it more acceptable for mainstream cinema audiences at the time.

Twilight Zone "Black Leather Jackets", 1964....(not H-Bs)

Not HBS, no, though they did look great. Quality episode.

Not really a “half-belt” but a cool jacket nevertheless; “The Natural”, the movie about the fictional baseball team N.Y. Knights and their slugger Roy Hobbs, takes place in 1939 (my all-time favorite baseball film).

I caved and bent my own rule, movies made in any year is fine. Was watching The Terror S2, wow, some nice wool/leather combo jacket in E2!! Wondering if it's from the costume warehouse (aka, an original), or a repro, never seen it offered by any maker today though

Just watched The Troublw with Harry, very typical dark brown leather, it made me wonder how many jackets used in The Wild One are actually brown. Brown and black would look similar in BW film

Sorry, I am not a classy guy, so I've got some 1970's TV

Starsky's Golden Bear half-belt in the cop series Starsky and Hutch. The same jacket apparently shows up in a bunch of 1970's TV and films (so say Film Jackets researchers). Also worn by a character in Grease - a movie I have never seen.

My all time favorite!

I was the one over there at filmjackets that Id’d it as a Golden Bear, and still have the re-issue as well as the Proto Rick had made of it.

The one in Grease did NOT match the Starsky one though
