Good stuff! I checked out their web site and it looks like they just make Westerns. Do they also make any Fedora styles? He does not list pricing what are his prices for a Western weight full beaver? What is his lead time?Powder River Hats in Elizabeth, CO. Just got my first Beaver Fur hat and I love it.
Hopefully this isn't redundant, but I've done some looking around on the site and for some reason failed to find a 'definitive' list of custom, bespoke fur felt Fedora hatmakers.
There is some crossover with "Western" hatters, but for this list, I'll try and stick to the ones that make fedoras specifically (and have them listed on their site specifically). Also, I'm avoiding the resellers for now, since this is specifically for those shops that make custom hats. If I've included one by accident, please let me know.
So I've compiled a quick list, as of June 2014, in no particular order:

I hope this isn't entirely off-topic but this thread IS devoted to custom hats, so here goes. Several years ago, there was a hat style known as the "Buckarette," with a wide brim and a high crown, offered by Jackson Hole Hat Company. At the time, the brim width was listed as 6-1/2 inches, IIRC. Unfortunately, they have since discontinued that style, because the extra-large hat bodies or hat blanks need for a hat of this magnitude are no longer being made. I've attached a picture of the hat in question as a reference. My question is, Does anyone know of a hat blank or hat body maker that can custom-make a hat body suitable for a hat like this, either in this country, in Mexico, or elsewhere? I have a long-time dream of having a hat like this with--please don't laugh!--a 7-inch brim AND a 7-inch crown! All other details would be the same as in the picture EXCEPT that I would like the hatband to be loaded with turquoise-studded conchos. So far, my efforts have proven fruitless! Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions! View attachment 172737
How do I go about sending a PM on this forum? I'm still new here, so I'm not familiar with all of the ins and outs, so to speak!

Looking for suggestions other than The Optimo Hat Company??
Thanks,
