Here's some pictures of a Stratoliner I got from "thefedorastore". I hope you will be able to see the blue influence in the gray color. It makes for an interesting color, and I think it works well with this Stratoliner!

(Sorry I haven't graduated to having the pictures appear in this posting yet. Thanks for the links Duane).

That is a beautiful hat.

But if I could be frank for a moment, it's
a very strange crown block. I wonder what
was used? I am referring specifically to the
rounded top and the bumpy bits (the latter could
just be the lighting). Duane? Did it come to you like that?

I mean no offense, I'm just wondering. It's a classic
hat in an unusual and pleasing color,
and I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from it.

BTW, ledsled, all you have to do to get the picture to appear is
click on the little yellow icon with pyramids,
above the text composition window and paste your URL:

Thanks for the compliments!

I don't know about the block. Maybe Duane will see this thread and have an answer. I used very harsh side-lighting to try and get the most detail possible (and the best depth of field to compensate for any errors in the autofocus). Also, on my computer's screen the hat looks more gray than it really is. In "reality" it's got a lot of baby blue to the gray.

I photographed my other hats, and will be joining more secret brotherhoods around here.... but I won't spill the beans until I can post the pictures! Thanks Feltfan for the hints on how to do that. I'll have to give it another shot and see how I can screw it up. lol

Stratoliner clone???

Pardon my ignorance but is this a "clone" of the Stratoliner, i.e. is it brand new made with modern components. If so, how did you get the Stetson sweatband and crown liner?

I agree with RBH. If you look at the sweatband, while it's in mint condition, it does not look new.

Feltfan: I don't see any pyramids to click on, so will rely on my primitive link again. :rage:

How 'bout a picture with the hat on?

Let's just say the harsh lighting really DOES show every little detail. In my case, my frail ego doesn't want to share the results! lol

I'll have to wait for a foggy day and try a few shots then...

age RBH?

Have you figured out an age for your strat RBH? I figure it would be a safe assumption if mine has the same interior detailing, then it would fall into the same range.
