By split seam I meant the gusseted seam (is that the right word?). I like the back arrangement of the Canuck the best, and the simplicity of the Brakeman. My only criticism of the Work Coat is that, from the back, it looks like a long Speedway.

Is it my imagination or does the Brakeman slope down in the front? I know that is often done on shorter half belts, but I've never seen it done on longer jackets.

I've seen Carrie refer to it as an action seam.

I really like the look of the work coat, but, were I to get one, I'd size up, I think. I have a longer Aero which is a little too trim-fitting and I wish it had more 'give'. I already own a Stockman in black fqhh which is spot on in terms of size (and markedly cheaper) so I'm happy enough not to go for the Work Coat. I thought that the Brakeman was a work of art, but I'm priced out at anything over standard Aero prices purely because I feel that anything above 700 gbp is overkill.
