"What's up?"

I absolutely can't stand being asked that. If you wish to greet me, say some variant of "hello". Don't ask me a question. You don't really want to know what I'm doing the second you walk up to me. I don't want to say what I am or have been doing.

(Note: This is okay to say if someone is coming up to you to ask a question. "What's up?", in this case, would refer to, "What do you need?")

"How's it going?"

"I feel like sh**, thanks for asking." I will give an honest response. I don't like being asked about my current state. I also don't wish to give some fake "fine" to every person that asks me this.

"It's all about the armholes". So, I suppose, having the jacket actually fit is a minor concern, right?

lol lol lol lol lol lol

THANK YOU!!! Glad someone said it!!! About time too!

I'd like to also see this one put out to pasture:

DUDE! if it hasn't been said already

It's a hard one to kick... but, it needs to go... I just have to get it out of my speach... if anyone around me hears me say it, sock me in the arm! PLEASE!

Thank you.:D

PS. German's are very nice people... very easy going and friendly! ;)

I'm not too bitter. I usually just ignore the questions and proceed to whatever conversation is taking place.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. If no answer is expected, why provide one?

I am tired of the rather cliched use of blogging instead sorting out personal issues with the person you have the issue with. But I suppose it's always easier to rant and rave that everyone -else- has an issue but oneself.

Blogs like that are a drama causing mechanism, plain and simple.

The discussion of armholes is a major concern to some with regards to fit. Unless you prefers to not move your arms too much. ;)

I understand that and don't disagree that it should be considered. It's just that there's too much noise being made about that one facet, too many people here getting "wrapped around the axle" worrying about it as a result, and no one giving due consideration to the concept of what constitutes a proper fit in the first place...placement or size of the armholes notwithstanding. Jacket armholes, whether high or low, aren't the "be all" and "end all" of getting a proper fit as some have claimed. If your jacket is too long or too short in the body or simply too tight to button properly, will a high set of armholes miraculously salvage the look? I don't think so, and I doubt if anyone else does either. Hence, my point about ending the armhole cliche.

Frankly, it's a struggle for some guys to just get their shirt sleeves the proper length. Then, they do, and some "guru" who's fixated on high armholes sticks 'em in a jacket with high armholes and guess what happens to that "perfectly fitted" shirt -- bye, bye shirt cuff! What was accomplished? :eusa_doh:

This thread is about cliches. I'll leave it there. Bartenders, feel free to move this discussion to another thread if deemed appropriate. ;)
