Its way more fun looking in antique malls. In a way, I hate doing ebay. There's not the thrill of finding it in the same way as doing it in person.

I only copied the part about the Lee hat.
Most times when I search a name anywhere from 10 -15 to 200 hits will come up, this was the only ad I found and it was from 1947.

That's an interesting ad, RBH. Normally, I think of a dimensional brim as being longer in the front and back -- but the Lee ad suggests shorter in the front (don't know about the back). Also interesting that Lee was making their hats available in both pre-shaped and open crown versions.

Incidentally, I've been curious about where you've been finding the various newspaper ads -- is that just a google search, or something else?

Cheers,
JtL

You have made some great finds Dinerman. As we travel from Central Ny down to Easton md and Va beach to vist the offspring,I'm going to have to convince the wife to make a few pit stops at the shops along the way..... easier said than done though......;)

I agree on the shop vs e-bay discoveries..ebay has me tired out...thing is though without it I would see very few hats...the pickings are slim up here. Part of the that is due to the 7.5 size but for some reason they just aren't seen here.

Good Luck and keep at it....
