Layering my A2

A little cold here in the UK today, but I didn't fancy heavy FQHH, so popped an old Lee/Can't Bust Em Chore over my A2.

Nice and warm, and not fighting stiff HH

Is that an Aero with the russet / rust knits combo? I have a notion they never issued 'em like that back when, but to my eye it's one of the sharpest colour combinations there are in an A2.

Have been seeing denim vests over leather motorcycle jackets for years, wearing them to.
Never seen denim coat or jacket over leather though. I wear micro-fleece vest under my A-2s....

Yes, it works. For warmth I also considered a USAAF C3 vest, but I should think I'd have to size up markedly from my preferred A2 fit to accommodate it.

I'm not convinced the denim would really add anything much in the way of warmth, unless it is lined... The denim 'vests' you've seen - colours, for the most part?

I tend not to wear an A2 when it is colder. Typically, if I need something more than that over a shirt (or a sweater is required), I reach instead for a heavier jacket. After last week's mild weather, I'm back in the B3 in a snowy London today!

If I don't wear an A-2 in the winter, I don't wear it. How cold does it get where you all are?

MM, give a try to the opposite, layer a tighter denim under the A-2, I've been doing the same with a slim Levi's type 3 under a pea coat.. Gives me a chance to wear more of the jackets in my closet

Hi Boyo. I agree. A cool look

Some of the guys at my local pub rib me when I do "double denim" - so I do it more to wind them up.

Today I had Freddies Jeans, an old Levi shirt, and the Lee Chore (along with the A2) so that was "triple denim".....

What I could do is Jeans, Denim shirt, Jean Jacket, A2, and a Chore over the top. That would be QUADRUPLE denim!!:eeek:

I like the collar over the collar look. My LVC Type I jacket will fit over my incoming A-2. Cool idea.
