Bob, on this or this thread you'll see that Sal and Kahla are giving some behind the scenes info. Both no longer work for LD.

Basically, LD have given up on any custom work and are doing RTW jeans only, and very, very slowly at that. So if you gave them extra money for unlimited custom work based on your dimensions, that's gone into his pocket and you almost certainly won't get any shirts or jackets, so if anybody with any outstanding orders doesn't do a chargeback from their banks now, there soon might not be anything left to claim against.

They closed the Tucson factory almost as soon as it opened, Phoenix is closing if it's not already closed and LA is contract RTW jeans only, presumably only for as long as he can pay them.

The guy has run out of ways to generate incoming cash now, with all his sales, heavy jeans and jackets and other items and now the rep is so bad internet-wide there can't be much cash if anything coming in, especially as they're not taking new orders.

Those who got out are the lucky ones, as the products they delivered ranged from embarrassingly bad (jeans with no buttons or button holes:eeek to excellent, but it was a lottery what you got and when.

But still some people are hanging on in the hope that they'll get what they want, and I wish them all the best.

Thanks, wdw. The whole thing does seem a bit like a Ponzi scheme. When I first saw their PR photos I thought there was something a bit "off" about the whole deal: lots of cool-guy posing on bikes and whatnot but no photos of people sitting at sewing machines. I'm only waiting for a single pair of jeans and my hopes aren't high, but I feel for anyone who went any deeper.

What's particularly irksome about this state of affairs is that there'll be a fair number of people, friends and relatives, who signed up on the back of recommendations from people on the Lounge etc. They likelihood is that they've been left either out of pocket or fighting to get their money back. I think many of us here are used to the inherent risk involved with throwing money at this sort of outfit, but for those not used to it, they'll probably feel very sore, at both Lawless and at the person who recommended it in the first place.

That's exactly the situation i am in...

I placed my order last november, and recommended it to my drummer, who also ordered some jeans.
When things started to get dodgy i cancelled my order and got my money back.
My drummer decided to give them a chance and it backfired. He still hasn't received anything, and they have now stopped all conversation with him.
All the emails bounce back, he just cannot get in touch with anyone at LD, cannot get his order or his money...
I kinda feel bad about it, he is cool about it, but it still sucks...

Well.... that's the end of that. Only thing left is their Filing Chapter 11 and I can officially kiss my money or my first pair of selvedge jeans goodbye. As I said earlier the next fracken outfit that comes waltzing by promising me, not the world, but ANYTHING will never, EVER see a dime from me. PERIOD!

It seems that the famous 24oz jeans never existed and never will exist. I hope no one here ordered any. Plus he can't pay suppliers now.

I'm not sure what more signs anyone needs to start the chargeback process...

Going back to the early pages, I see that it took just a month, or 17 pages, for things to go south. It's amazing that this soap opera has managed to rumble on for eight months. From the sound of it, the Lawless factory has now into Carry On Selvedge...

I'm still gobsmacked that people continued to order product after all complaints. They should have folded already. It can't be too far off.

A little bit of good news for me at least, had a call from the bank and they are happy to start a chargeback claim against Lawless/LD&Co, this for an original November order.

It was only for one pair in the end as I cancelled everything else earlier so not really about the money but hopefully this will have some kind of detrimental effect on them given they've ignored any communication I've sent them for the past two months - Have no idea if they have to pay out themselves on a chargeback?

Given today/yesterdays developments on the other board which has seen someone receive a pair of jeans that appear to have been 'rebranded' from another maker I can't say I'm sorry I'll never see my Lawless(or whomever) order.
