They already asked for this detail when I mentioned on that initial phone call that functionality was the priority :)
I ride slightly hunched in front (not full super sport, but sport touring), so they already told me about making the back a bit longer to accommodate this position among other things.
The heavy cowhide is sold, they currently have 3 - 3.5oz now which should be more than good enough.
You ride a roadking if I remember correctly?

FYI The heavy cowhide is so thick it is honestly ridiculous. This from a man who wore Lost World's 4 oz plus Horse Hide!!!

I just gave Langlitz a deposit.

Hopefully I'll get the jacket as quick as Sweetfights did. I am freezing my arse off up here.

I ordered my Dark Brown sidewinder with dress collar, contrasting stitching (camel hair). I only knew about this gorgeous color combination from the Japanese websites.

I am holding off on a dedicated riding jacket for now. This will be a more everyday wear but still good for riding.

Modified Timberline with a centre zip, single point yoke on back with 3 pinstripes. Dress collar, 2 chest pockets, no hand warmers (undecided on that yet), silver zippers and what they call a Red-Dog cuff which is a false cuff with a zippered sleeve.

I was thinking about some kind of brown or dark tan stitching on black medium weight leather.

I have leather samples coming still so I gave a deposit to get me into the queue.

I am still going over details and may change to a centre zipped cascade and get the bi-swing back.

Damn-- sounds like you are off and running. I deleted hand warmers on both my jackets. I never use them but did go with inside wallet and gun pocket on both. I'll have to look it up. Never heard of the Red-Dog cuffs!
That jacket of your will still work on a motorcycle. All the Langlitz jackets seem to have to football type under arms which are a big help in mobility. Only my Roadhouse by Lost World's had those in the arm pits.

Good to know. I did not know about the underarm gussets.

Here is a pic of the cuff. I like it much better than just a small seam at the cuff like a standard zippered sleeve.

Wish I knew about that. Looks better than the standard cuff.
Thanks!

Were you able to return the Langlitz yet? Hope you are not waiting long for the new jacket.

They wanted me to make some notes. Measure the space between the zipper up and down the jacket to see how much space I need. A pretty unscientific method but hey, they have probably done it this way many times. I think once they look over that they can tell if they can reuse any parts of the jacket. I think at this point only the front and rear yokes and back panel would be useable. I will need to add 1 1/2" to the sleeves since they'll shorten a bit so an inch will be perfect but better a bit long than too short.

I am not fussed about wait time. I'd rather wait 6 months and get a perfect jacket than do this dance all over again. My guess is in 2 months I'll have a replacement. It will be a deep freeze here soon, so I won't get to wear it until the end of March anyway.

Langlitz said they will have to make a new jacket so mine is going back tomorrow.

I will keep this thread updated once I get a replacement sent back to me.

had to confirm some new measurements but looks like my new jacket will be:

3/4" longer in body

1 3/4" longer in sleeves with 1/2" added to sleeve circumference.

More room added in waist, stomach and bottom to open it up a bit to make it less tight and more fitted.

I will update this once I get it in a few weeks. Looks like they will start cutting the leather next week.
