+$1200 :( yeah I'd pass on that too. Their cow is great stuff. If they could do it for, say +$100-200 premium, I'd be willing to do it, but that's almost 2x. Can't see it being worth it.

Agreed. The up charge for Langlitz coloured leather is $200 - worth it from all the samples I have- will tell you for sure at the end of the month. $1200 extra for Horsehide? Man....that would have to be some special leather....... I’m with Ton and you Guppy, off of my experiences with Aero leather, cowhide is awesome and my preference.

Are you getting pinstripes with your jacket? I am with the second jacket.

Thinking about it. It depends if I get the shoulder and elbow padding. The pin stripes may add business to the jacket. I do really dig them though, but I am still on the fence. If I get no padding then there will be pinstripes for sure.

The jacket will basically be a Cascade with a straight/centred zipper and a Sidewinder collar.

I am unsure about chest pockets yet but may add one to each side and delete the hand warmer pockets.

It is still a work in progress and I have lots of time. I won't be ordering for a few months yet, or longer. Probably not till Feb or March of 2019.

I ordered this but with tan cotton drill. I went with the 2 way main zip as it will be more functional for the trim fit I am going for. I love the versatility of the 2 way main zip...

I also went with single point yoke

Padding options for back yoke. Standard and fit to yoke. Fit to yoke can be done with a single point yoke or one that is straight on the bottom also.

I think I prefer the standard option and may go with a straight yoke and no point.

Now I am starting to think of a riding jacket and an everyday wear one, also. Damnit. That Langlitz Japan site is giving me a lot of money-sucking ideas.

Looking at langlitz Japan is like driving Excalibur right through the heart of your wallet, if you remove it it will leave the entrails of credit cards scattered across the floor. Godspeed.

Oh and PS the fit to yoke looks a bit nicer imho.

I looked, I shouldn't have... I kinda wanted one, now i really want one...
Their website is so much better then the "real" one! Real pictures instead of drawings? That's madness!

To me the fit to yoke looks a bit too super hero costume, i think i would go standard.

I wrestled with the rear yoke and padding choice (fitted or standard).
I ended up getting a single point yoke with fitted shoulder pads on my Langlitz Sidewinder Cafe Racer. Looks great and the lines are aesthetically pleasing. My now complete and shipped (on the way) sidewinder with dress collar as a single point yoke with non-fitted shoulder pads. I wanted two jackets that looked different, aside from leather color. The shoulder pads produce lines that are nice to look at with either option. But, I did get pin stripes with the non-fitted pads. And from the examples I have seen online (mostly from Japan), it looks amazing. It is all about lines and curves. That is what our minds are usually attracted too. So many choices to customize with langlitz but you have to do your research which is what you appear to be doing. Good luck.

Here is a pic of fit to yoke on a straight bottomed yoke. I don't mind fit to yoke on a pointed yoke, but not so much on a straight yoke, which is what I am going with.

Yes- the fitted pads look better with the single point yoke- I agree.
I do not think the straight yoke suits the langlitz jacket with padded shoulders. Just my view.
A straight year yoke, I believe looks better with a very plain canvas- no extra lines.
