... but at least there's no smog today!

As I write, there is a POWERFUL windstorm shrieking its way through Los Angeles. The power goes out and then back in. Roof tiles are flying around. Trees are almost horizontal.

Fellow Angelenos, have you been blown away yet?

Marc, I'm curious. What are the steady and gusting mphs?

We had a wind about a month ago that gusted over 50 mph. It started way out west (hundreds-1000 miles) and brought with it a duststorm visible from space.

Yeah, that's a pretty good wind. Congratulations! :eusa_clap :p And stay warm! Those high-speed gusting windows go right through you.

Progression pictures of the dust storm on Feb 24, if anyone's interested:

This is the color the whole sky started at.

That red light effect the rest of the day was the weirdest thing ever. At least this wind was relatively warm; I think it was in the 60s or low 70s that day.

Its been windier than normal the past couple of days up here in the Bay Area as well. Rather knife-like in its coldness too. I haven't heard any debris blowing around although there has been plenty of eucalyptus spoor on the ground on my morning walk to work.

Haversack.

I walked two blocks to the P.O. earlier today. I was scared to cross the street because I was sure the light signal was going to topple down any second. That, and because I saw Happyfilmluvguy fly by on his broomstick.

We haven't had too much damage here, probably because a windstorm a couple weeks ago already busted the main gate. [huh]

We're in the midst of a good Ol' Fashioned Nor'Easter. Parts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine are getting up to 8" of snow.

Here is Boston, we have torrential rain.

So, I sympathize with you all. Use your wind-cords. ;)

ahh...I am currently behind the Orange curtain for work....doesn't look all that windy outside here though....

I'm in South OC for work. I think we just disconnected from the rest of Cali and are hovering somewhere over Baja

Not a good day for long, curly hair. And man, is the surf choppy and ugly.

Behind the 8 ball,..
35MPH? That's nuthin,...

A good storm in my neck of the woods often brings 50 to 60 MPH winds, winter or summer.
The winter storms that come over the lake from Canada are the best! lol
