I keep a Model 30 (.45acp)in a kitchen drawer. But I caution one and all never, NEVER,....use it as a spatula. It ruins the eggs and it does NOT help the Glock's finish.lol

I have a serious love for clocks, as well as a crazy need for the ability to look in any direction and see a clock for the time.
Here a some of my better clocks, none actually vintage, and all were found in regular stores such as Target, Walmart, and I think even Shopko.
My favorite is the pocket watch looking one with the fabulous numbers.

I love the red light and the timer on this one...

This I just got at Target a week or so ago, it's my favorite.

My oldest kitchen clock is a General Electric with a 1927 patent date on it. I painted it black, because it was all dingy, but the paper label is still on the back:
"General Electric Kitchen Clock Model 2H14 Volts 100 125 CVC 60 W 2"
then it lists 4 patent numbers, the earliest being between 1924-1925.

A vintage clock in my kitchen is something I've made it a point to have since college, but when the wife melted our current one while cooking, it was time to start looking for a replacement.

We found one we liked at an antique/vintage market while in Oklahoma City for the holidays, and this evening, I took it apart (not the motor, the external parts) and gave them a good cleaning, and it looks virtually brand new now.

That magic name, Telechron, is on the front of that nifty clock. There is an entire website dedicated to Telechron clocks.

G.E. owned Telechron for many years, so there is a whole range of GE clocks that are really Telechron with different model numbers.
Anyhow, aside from being super reliable, the clocks were designed with a vast array of wonderful deco designs. I have a couple of antique electric clocks, but my kitchen clock is a modern one with vintage design, and a little quartz crystal, battery powered insides. I'll post it tonight.

I love the Lux clock, and desperately wanted one in red for my new kitchen, which features red accents. Unfortunately, the vintage starburst/sunburst clocks on Ebay go for waaay too much. Colored Luxes usually end up at around $150 (or more!) while most others end up over $100.

There's also the fact that outlet space in older New England apartments is valuable and hard to come by (and cords hanging down walls are ugly), so I refuse to buy a clock that has an electric cable.

We just kept looking and ended up finding an all wood 60s one at an antique mall for $15. It looked too dated and too 60s for our taste, so we had a little fun with it:

Cool, thanks for that link! I now know that our clock is model 2H21, known as The Decorator, and originates from the postwar years of 1945-49.
