“This is serious” was he first thought that came to mind when the cardboard flaps opened to reveal what was sitting in there… a beauty. A beauty I had seen in pictures, but there she was in the flesh, in all her glory…

Yes, we are talking about a leather jacket :p

Heavy bison crowned by a burgundy collar, I have not weighed it yet, but it should be up there with my heaviest jackets. Yet, you put it on, and that weight disappears. The jacket is now part of you, a thick layer of armour to protect you form the dangers lurking in the outside world, yet pliable enough and so well designed that it will accompany you in your pursuits instead of hindering you and slow you down.

Ok better stop these first impression here, I am not writing an epic novel but trying to describe an epic jacket, because this is what it is, a one-of-a-kind jacket.

I had not thought of the trees when taking the pictures, but I thought it was fitting to the occasion, and that might one of the factors making me write like this lol

Thanks :)

Johnson leathers does magic indeed :D

I had thought of either burgundy or navy for the collar, both would have worked. But that reddish burgundy won me over :)

LOVE "walk the walk"!

Looks amazing AND epic!

Keep going with the poetic description of the jacket and trees, I endorse this feeling!

Wow! The design is so cool, the hardware is perfect, the mouton collar is epic and the leather looks so crazy good with the pronounced bison grain. I like how the bottom hem is designed and shaped around the hip. Hope this get lots of wear on your rides.

Hotdog! Everything is well thought out. Thank you for posting this one.
The band collar works better on the bike but that fur collar is the bomb off the bike. Excellent work here. I forgot what lining did you go with on this one?

Yes, they are so serious with fit. They made another mockup for this jacket and nailed it again from just the pictures! IT will be my to go jacket as soon as he temperature goes down

You know my thoughts on this one. All I can add is spot-on fit to match the amazing style.

Thanks! They are gerating at making a pattern for you! :)

They had a nice red nylon in stock, so that's what I went for, it will shop in the detailed pics I hope to take today :)

Wow, this surpasses grail level. The design is super bold yet so sophisticated. I'm in awe.

All thanks to Johnson Leather mainly! They know what they are doing! I gave them the general idea - in this case an evolution of my first custom - and they helped with making sure everything is where it should be. What I love about Johnson Leather is that they wil really try to get whatever you want made in a good way. If it is not a good idea, they will let you know, but still do it in case you really want it.

We did spend discuss the length at length, cheap pun I know lol

Happy with the lengthm it came to where I wanted to be, we were adjusting it by quarter inches!
Well I think that precision paid off. Really great fit on that jacket. Love the design as well of course.

And here are the close up pictures, this should show clearly how well contructed this jacket is, I do not think I need to add anything here. The fit we aready discussed and saw.

The jacket weighs 4.06 kg / 8.95lbs with the collar on, it is my heaviest jacket to date. No wonder Alan told me the leather was on the plump side. but as I mentionned earlier, I would have never guessed it is my heaviest jacket just from wearing it, the weight is perfectly dirstibuted. Can't wait for the weather to cool and start using it on a daily basis to see how it feels. I have finally sobered up from our first meeting, so I can write in a more objective manner lol

The leather is fantastic, I fell in love with it when Alan sent me the pictures of the samples, he did offer to send them over, but I thought it was not necessary. From the pics I knew they were special, and knowing that the Johnson Leather team is looking after me, I did not have to worry. That being said there are some other really beautiful colours in Bison, namely for me, a deep violet I could see in an East West style jacket in the future...
The leather is pliable but still retails some shape, nowhere near as pliable as deer, but not stiff either.

Enough talk, here the pics!

I did not specify the buttons, they matched them for me so well! :)

The contrast in colours is accurate enough

After seeing this, you can understand why I would have other jackets in the works with Johnson leathers :D
